Europe 2020
«The Europe 2020 strategy is the EU's agenda for growth and jobs for the current decade. It emphasises smart, sustainable and inclusive growth as a way to overcome the structural weaknesses in Europe's economy, improve its competitiveness and productivity and underpin a sustainable social market economy.» (European Commission)
The Europe 2020 Strategy includes five areas and covers eight targets: Employment (Employment Rate); Educaton (Early leavers from education and trainning rate; Population, aged 30 to 34, with higher education); Research and Development (Expenditure on R&D as % os GDP); Poverty and social exclusion (Population at risk of poverty); Climate change and Energy (Greenhouse gas emissions; Renewable energy consumption; Energy Efficiency - Primary energy consumption; Final Energy Consumption).
